Bacteria can be classified into strains, classes, orders, families, genera, and species. Most analyses conducted by other institutes are not as in-depth. Through the extraction of bacterial DNA (a marker gene present in all bacteria), amplification via PCR, and subsequent analysis using Next-Generation sequencing, myBioma can identify the species of bacteria at a very detailed level, such as Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Akkermansia muciniphila. This allows the myBioma self-test to provide precise information about the microbiome in the stool sample.
Additionally, myBioma is the first and still only certified company worldwide according to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 in the field of microbiome analysis, which speaks to the quality and care of our test. Furthermore, we apply special algorithms to predict bacterial metabolic processes based on DNA analysis.
myBioma aims to understand how bacteria are associated with health conditions and provides personalised dietary recommendations based on the individual microbiome. Often, microbiome tests are criticised for lacking scientific studies. With us, it's different, as each statement in the myBioma report is backed by multiple scientific studies. The myBioma team consists of molecular biologists, biochemists, physicians, nutritionists, senior scientists, bioinformaticians, and our fingerprint is a scientific approach.
