The given reference and average values are mainly based on our surveys, the collected data, as well as studies that we have analysed or were also involved in. The microbiome is demographically diverse. We have recorded European demographics in our database, which gives us the largest database in this area. Based on the data, such as age, gender, origin, previous illnesses, which we collect through questionnaires, we are able to calculate models and categorise samples.
In contrast to parameters from a classical blood count, this is significantly more difficult because in microbiome tests there is more variability in the analysis process on the one hand and several decades less experience and data collection on the other. Furthermore, one must also question how "healthy" can be defined at all and which factors can and should be taken into account.
In this respect, we always try to stay up to date, improve our processes and constantly update our models and resulting reference values to ensure the best possible validity. The quality of our processes is very important to us, which we also illustrate with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certification.
